Glamorous Red Carpet Secrets Revealed by Kendall Jenner’s MUA
The journey began with the renowned makeup artist Mary Phillips and her widely acclaimed “underpainting” technique, now a sensation on social media. Given Kendall Jenner’s role as a L’Oréal Paris ambassador, that was the sole inclusion in Phillips’s kit for the glamorous evening.
“I consistently employ the underpainting technique,” Phillips reveals. “My process begins with the application of cream contour along the face’s edges, jawline, and cheekbones. Following that, I use concealer to accentuate the center of the forehead, down the nose, and under the eyes. Blending the contour and highlight seamlessly, I then apply foundation, adjusting with additional contour or cream highlight as necessary. After completing the cream phase, I lightly set the skin with powder, incorporating bronzer and a touch of blush on the apples of the cheeks.”
In the artistry of the evening, Phillips skillfully elongated Jenner’s eyes, bestowing upon them the spotlight of the night’s allure. “The winged technique accentuates and defines the eyes, creating a captivating, alluring gaze. A cat eye, with its touch of sophistication and flair, becomes the pièce de résistance, elevating the entire makeup look.”
To achieve a “naturally pouty lip,” Phillips initiated the process with the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche lip liner in Au Naturale. Subsequently, she crafted a personalized blend for Jenner, combining L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance liquid lipstick in the hues Breakfast in Bed and Major Crush to achieve the desired soft nude shade.
